In-Year School Admissions

If you would be interested in joing our school please complete the below form and email with a copy of your child's Birth certificate/passport and your proof of address to Miss Whitehead: admin@tredworth-inf.gloucs.sch.uk

If we are full in a year group then we can add you to our waiting list and contact you if a place becomes available. Where applications for admission exceed the number of places available, the following criteria will be applied in the order stated below:

1.   Children in Care/Previously Looked After Children A 'looked after child' (1 and 2) or a child who was previously looked after but immediately after being looked after became subject to an adoption  (3 ) child arrangements order (residency order) or special guardianship order ( 4) including those who appear to the admission authority to have been in state care outside of England and ceased to be in state care as a result of being adopted(5).

  1. Children who have a sibling who will be attending Tredworth Infant and Nursery Academy or Tredworth Junior School at the time of reception admission (i.e. a brother or sister, half brother or sister, adopted brother or sister, step brother or sister, or the child of a parent/ carer’s partner as well as children brought together as a family by a same sex civil partnership. In every case the child must be living in the same family unit at the same address).

  1. Children with an authenticated medical reason for attending school. Children for whom only this school is appropriate due to an exceptional medical condition. Applications will only be considered if supported by a written statement from the applicant’s doctor which must demonstrate that there is a specific connection between the medical need and the facilities or resources of the school. The final decision to accept a child under this category will be made by the Board of Trustees through consultation with relevant professionals where necessary.

  2. Children with the strongest geographical claim in the year in which the child is to start school on the closing date for application. The distance will be measured in a straight line from the ordnance survey point of the child’s home address (including flats) to the ordnance survey point of the school. Those living the closest will receive the highest priority

We will send you a letter of our decision and also forward your form to the In-Year Admissions at Shire Hall to make them aware of our decision.

**Please bear in mind that if your child is 5 years and over it is a legal requirement to have them enrolled in a school. You will need to actively look for a school within Gloucester, whether you can walk there or use transport, otherwise you could be issued a fine from the Council**
